Passion for cooking
The passion for cooking has always been strong in Maria Pilar Aceña Gascón (from now on, Pili). Without any academic training or previous experience, her culinary skills seemed innate. Her experiences in various restaurants throughout her life have transformed her into a high-level chef.
On June 22, 2007, accompanied by the unconditional support of her husband, Francesc Delpueyo Bartoll, and her beloved children, Pili made a decision: to open her own restaurant, Restaurant Cal Carlets. For many years, Pili led this establishment located in her ancestral house, in the highest part of the town. Over time, her husband joined this exciting project, leaving his own job. In addition, the family’s daughter, Jordina, took over the kitchen as the restaurant’s chef, while Miguel, Jordina’s husband, took over the dining room experience. It is worth noting that for eight years, from 2012 to 2020, the family successfully launched and managed two restaurants in Porrera: Cal Carlets and Rebost de Cal Carlets.
On July 9, 2022, a unique opportunity opened up: taking over the management of Restaurant Lo Teatret, a place with history founded in the mid-nineties by the visionary Salustià Àlvarez Vidal. After deep reflection, the Cal Carlets family decided to gratefully close their first culinary project and embrace this new adventure with the old theater in the town of Porrera. With a rich culinary history and the spirit of renewal, the family continues to offer unique gastronomic experiences at Restaurant Lo Teatret.
Our cuisine
Restaurant Lo Teatret stands out for its focus on home-cooked meals and its specialties centered on grilled meats and pot. This authentic cuisine, which is the same that characterized the renowned Restaurant Cal Carlets, becomes the main hallmark of this new establishment.
The stage of our spacious kitchen is a show in itself, with white volcanic stone embers and stoves that become the place of gestation of each homemade delicatessen. This space of culinary creation reflects the passion and dedication that the chef puts into each dish that comes out of their expert hands.
In addition, during weekend nights and the warm summer months, we offer the charm of our homemade pizzas, carefully prepared and cooked in a wood-fired oven. This unique gastronomic experience joins our repertoire, offering a charming variety that resonates with the most demanding palates.
